NEW CHARACTER: Sophie Grace Empty
PostSubject: NEW CHARACTER: Sophie Grace   NEW CHARACTER: Sophie Grace EmptyFri Feb 25, 2011 12:12 am

Character Name: Sophie Grace

Age: 14

Gender: Female

Appearance: Sophie Grace was the odd ball in her family. Not only personality wise, but appearance wise, as well. Her many brothers and sisters all had dark hair. Their skin was pale, and their eyes were cold. Sophie was much brighter. Her blonde hair would shine brightly in every picture. Her light gray eyes popped out as the bold and enlightening centerpiece of her face, and her skin (the only common factor among her family and herself) glowed anywhere she went, rain or otherwise. Most people would never even guess that Sophie was a part of the Grace family, since she was so different. Both of her parents resemble her siblings; dark and quite eerie. It was her grandfather who passed down the gene of happiness in appearance to Sophie. Sadly, he died not long after her eighth birthday. However, she was the only one with the gene. She stuck out. Sophie was also more on the short side. Even though she was one of the older siblings, she still literally looked up to everyone as her little brothers and sisters grew up and shot past her. She grew too; but it took a while for her to begin catching up with the rest of her siblings. She was a "late-starter".

Sophie did not really enjoy sticking out. It made her feel as though she had nothing in common with her family, and that she had lost touch with them. She felt like a stranger among a group of people that had nothing to do with her. Actually, she was often pushed away from the rest of her family because of her strange appearance and personality; well, it was strange to them. They rarely treated her as a regular daughter and sister. They felt ashamed because Sophie did not follow the "family tradition"; like she had a choice! She was happy with the way she looked, and she wasn't going to let anybody tell her that she shouldn't be.

History: Sophie Grace lived her life in an environment where she didn't fit in and she was never really accepted. She was one of seven children, all of who were exactly the same. They ate the same, slept the same, walked the same, breathed the same, etc. Sophie was completely different; the exact opposite. If her brothers and sisters wanted to go left, Sophie would insist on going right. Her mind just wasn't the same. It wasn't normal. At school, things were better. She had great friends who would do anything to protect her and comfort her when the family got too stressful. She got good grades and behaved properly. Things were almost ordinary there.

It was all at home when things went wrong. She switched into "battle mode" when she stepped through the front door, ready to defend herself if anything happened. Sometimes her older brothers would pull her hair or lock her in the closet. Her younger sisters would gossip about her and bring down her self-esteem. It was basically the other way around for most kids. A lot of people were bullied at school and it was at home when they were soothed. But for Sophie, that was not the case. She hated being at home. Her mother and father didn't care what went on in her life. If she fell into a river and nearly froze to death, they would hardly notice. It was very sad. However, it was a family like hers that prepared her for challenges in life. Sophie was tough, and she didn't drone on and on about how horrible her life was. She tried to ignore it, and treasure every moment that she has a real smile on her face and some fake, small grin that hides pain and sorrow.

Her past experiences that involved her family's obnoxious and cruel behavior was nothing compared to what they did to Sophie on her fourteenth birthday. It was just downright wrong.

After subtly reminding her entire family that she would be turning fourteen in a few days, her parents planned a surprise vacation; she had no idea where they were going to go. It was the first time that any of the Graces went somewhere out of town, let alone the first time that they did something for Sophie's birthday. It made her feel good inside about the fact that her brothers and sisters and mother and father were acknowledging her for once. She smiled as she quietly stepped out of the house on her way to the mysterious location that they were headed. It wasn't until she was going to board the plane at the airport when she learned that they were all headed for Florida. She was really excited. But, her family didn't seem to talk much. They didn't seem that excited either.

Sophie was still distant with her siblings and parents even though they were taking her on a vacation. They weren't acting normally. Their smiles seemed fake, their courteous gestures seemed forced, and everything about them just seemed awkward. Sophie didn't really notice, though. She assumed everything was alright...that is until they went on the cruise. Another "surprise" came from her mother and father once they landed in Florida. They were all going on a seven day cruise around the Caribbean and Bermuda Triangle. His was the time when Sophie began to notice all of the weird things that were coming about her family. She was actually put in a completely separate cabin away from the rest of her family. She only once spent an afternoon with her siblings. Other than that, it was as if she was on the vacation all by herself.

All too soon, the seven days were coming to a close, and Sophie was gathering her things together. Before she went to bed, she wanted to thank her parents for the birthday gift. She didn't know why, but she just felt the urge to speak to them. However, they were nowhere in sight. They weren't in their cabin; they weren't out at dinner; they weren't anywhere. The same went for her brothers and sisters. Sophie couldn't find anybody. It was as if they all disappeared. Eventually she grabbed a phone and tried to call all of their cell phones but no one answered. She spoke to the cruise staff and found out that the Grace family departed the ship two days before.

They all abandoned Sophie.

She was all alone, finally wishing that her world would just end. She didn't know what to do. She didn't have any money, no other family, nothing. There was nothing left. Sophie got off of the ship as soon as it stopped again. She was depressed for a few days. Who wouldn't be after their only family purposely ditched her in the middle of her fourteenth birthday cruise? It took a very long time for her to get used to her new life on her very own. But, her positive outlook and good attitude kept her going. She never did fit in with her family, so why should she really care that they're gone? It was just hard; knowing that they never even loved her. All of her lifetime goals were gone. Her friends were no longer reachable. What was there to be done now?

Personality: Sophie, as said before, is a girl who always tries to look at the positive side of things. She doesn't like to focus on the negative. It just makes herself and everybody around her sad. Unlike her family, who are evil, cold, uncreative, and ignorant, Sophie is good, heart-warming, colorful, and caring. It's something natural about her. Most people are attracted to her great personality because it's rare to meet a good person like her. And what makes her all that more lovable, is the fact that she has lived such a horrible life and yet she manages to pull through. Sophie never gives up. Even if she can't find the perfect solution to a problem, she tries to do what she can.

Sophie Grace puts others needs ahead of her own. She wants to please others and make them smile. It was definitely something she loved to do. Nothing really seemed to bother her (or at least that's what she shows on the outside). She dealt with things without complaint. That was another personality factor about Sophie. Her attitude didn't show any sass or back talk (unless she is trying to defend herself if someone calls her out on something she didn't do). She was actually pretty persuasive. She could easily convince somebody to do something for her, although she didn't use this trait to use people and take advantage of them. It, too, was just something that she naturally inherited from her grandfather.

This girl is something else. She is a good person; one that you don't find very often nowadays.
